Veganism has taken the world by storm and before it became trendy, many International celebrities had already adopted a plant-based diet, being advocates of the vegan lifestyle. Here are 10 celebrities, who you might not realise are vegan.
Venus Williams – After being diagnosed with an auto-immune disease, she changed to eating purely plant based, which has helped her stay in top form.
Sia – She has been vegan since 2014 and was part of the cast of a vegan documentary, called Dominion in 2018.
Benedict Cumberbatch – He was named PETA’s most beautiful vegan in 2018.
Ariana Grande – Her decision to be vegan in 2013 was based primarily on animal rights and admits to loving “animals more than most people.”
Jessica Chastain – She says she has more energy than she has ever had being vegan.
Lea Michele – She became vegan for health benefits and animal rights reasons and has been honoured by PETA in 2010 for her charity work with animals.
Jennifer Lopez – She loves being vegan and knowing that everything she eats comes from the earth. She also says it has given her so much energy.
Alanis Morissette – She switched to the vegan way of life in 2009, as she wanted to lose weight. Soon it became about more than just weight loss, but about improving her overall health. She attributes her plant-based diet to reducing her allergies and aches and pains.
Alec Baldwin – He turned to veganism in 2011 after being diagnosed as prediabetic.
Jenna Dewan Tatum – She gave up meat at an early age and was later on diagnosed as lactose intolerant. She has been vegan ever since and attributes her amazing physique and glowing skin to her plant-based diet.
Of the newer vegan celebrities, Zac Efron, has explained how it has positively changed his body and the way he metabolises food, also improving his sleep. Ellie Goulding changed her lifestyle in 2018 and embraces being vegan. Stevie Wonder has also recently adopted a vegan diet.
